Details

What it's about: Jesus said, 'It is finished.' With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.' (John 19:30). When Jesus died his saving work was complete. Nothing needed to be added to finish it. All that is now required is for us to accept it in faith and enjoy the good of it.

This four-week study retraces the events of the crucifixion story showing what they achieved, how fully Jesus' saving work was completed in them and how they relate to the gift of the Spirit.

The format: The study is arranged in two parts:

  • * The first introduces the theme of the crucifixion from the pages of scripture.
  • * The second is a four part study section made up of questions together with a table comparing the four gospel accounts.

Recorded teaching to accompany this course is available to stream or as a free download. Although the teaching and the course are intended to be used together, the teaching is optional and you can use the course without it if you prefer.

How to use it: You can use the study in several different ways:

  1. * By itself with your Bible.
  2. * Along with the recorded teaching.
  3. * By studying in a group.

Whichever method you adopt, the key is to listen for what the Holy Spirit has to tell you - about your beliefs, attitudes and life-style. Ask yourself what lessons you should be learning from your readings, so that you can apply them to your own understanding and life as a Christian.
