The Hour Has Come

Quick Overview

A workbook in 22 parts that takes you through John's Gospel and offers a fresh understanding of Jesus, his ministry and how both relate to you.

What it's about: The Hour Has Come is a rich study that will take you deeper into John's Gospel, and brings it to life. Completing this study will:

  • • inspire you with a fresh revelation of Jesus, his ministry and how both relate to you today;
  • • enable you to understand one Gospel—its broad structure, themes and own particular way of expressing Jesus and his ministry, death and resurrection;
  • • help you understand John's distinctive—how it is different from other Gospels;
  • • give you clear understanding of the significance of Jesus’ three-year ministry before the cross, and insight into the relationship between the cross and God's glory;
  • • strengthen your faith;
  • • provide deeper understanding of how Jesus relates to the Father and the Holy Spirit;
  • • help equip Bible teachers, providing a solid foundation on which their own lifetime exploration of the Gospels can be built;
  • • feed your spirit with God’s truth in the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit.

The format: This workbook consists of 22 weekly studies, although you can do them at a pace that suits you. Each week's study consists of written notes followed by questions that take you into the Bible, to enable you to receive your own revelation and insights.

The workbook is designed to accompany recorded teaching which is available as a free download.

Download recorded teaching

Alternatively, you can buy the recordings on a USB stick (see the Related Products panel on this page).

How to use it: The recommended way to use the workbook is:

  1. Read the week's section of John's Gospel
  2. Listen to the recorded teaching.
  3. Read the notes.
  4. Attempt to answer the questions.

The most effective way to use this course is to study one section per week in a group of 2 to 8 people. In this case each group member should listen to the recording during the week prior to meeting together to avoid limiting the time available for discussion. Whichever method you adopt, the key is to listen for what the Holy Spirit has to tell you - about your beliefs, attitudes and life-style. Ask yourself what lessons you should be learning from your readings, so that you can apply them to your own understanding and life as a Christian.
