What it's about: One like a Son of Man is a study that will take you deeper into Mark's Gospel, offering fresh understanding of the radical life of Christ and His Kingdom. Completing this study will:
- • inspire you with a fresh revelation of Jesus, the Kingdom and how both relate to you today;
- • enable you to understand one Gospel—its broad structure, themes and own particular way of expressing Jesus and his ministry, death and resurrection;
- • give you clear understanding of the significance of Jesus’ three-year ministry before the cross, as well as the cross itself and its aftermath;
- • strengthen your faith and teach you about how it operates in the Kingdom and in relation to Jesus;
- • provide deeper understanding of how Jesus came to fulfil the purposes of God related in the Old Testament;
- • help equip Bible teachers, providing a solid foundation on which their own lifetime exploration of the Gospels can be built;
- • feed your spirit with God’s truth in the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit.
The format: This workbook consists of 16 weekly studies, although you can do them at a pace that suits you. Each week's study consists of written notes followed by questions that take you into the bible, to enable you to receive your own revelation and insights.
The workbook is designed to accompany recorded teaching which is available as a free download.
Alternatively, you can buy the recordings on a USB stick (see the Related Products panel on this page).
How to use it: The recommended way to use the workbook is:
- Read the week's section of Mark's Gospel
- Listen to the recorded teaching.
- Read the notes.
- Attempt to answer the questions.
The most effective way to use this course is to study one section per week in a group of 2 to 8 people. In this case each group member should listen to the recording during the week prior to meeting together to avoid limiting the time available for discussion. Whichever method you adopt, the key is to listen for what the Holy Spirit has to tell you - about your beliefs, attitudes and life-style. Ask yourself what lessons you should be learning from your readings, so that you can apply them to your own understanding and life as a Christian.
